In the United States the number of Holy Days is six: Christmas, the Ascension (which is celebrated on Sunday in some regions), Holy Mary Mother of God (1 Jan.), Immaculate Conception (Dec. 8), Assumption (Aug. 15), and All Saints (Nov. 1). Finally, when Holy Days fall on a Saturday or a Monday the US Bishops' Conference has the faculty to remove the obligation for that year.

The particular calendar of the United States for the current year can be found on the USCCB web site at: http://www.usccb.org/liturgy/current/
